2016 = Attitude Change

How many of you get stuck in your mind, your life, the day to day minutiae, and all the other stuff that gets in our way?

That would be me. {{raising my hand sheepishly}}

When I look back at 2015, it’s not that I was unproductive, I just had a lot going on. Frankly, 2016 doesn’t look much better.

I’ve made my list of to do’s for 2016 and checked it twice, trying to decide if I’ll be naughty, nice, or a little of both. Probably a bit of both.

Changing the core of my being, making a profound change in the personality I was born with not an option. It’s more along the lines of unblocking my inner child and letting her come out and play.

We used to play pretend, give each other different names,
We would build a rocket ship and then we’d fly it far away,
Used to dream of outer space but now they’re laughing at our face,
Saying, “Wake up, you need to make money.”

My goal for 2016 is to shed the stress and find those things I built with my imagination as a child.

Yes, I’m going to write, laugh, sing, play, joke, cry, work, create, stalk nature with my camera, and stare at the moon (maybe even visit it to count the craters).

  • Leila, of all the girls I know, you are one of the few still solidly in touch with your inner child. But, if she thinks you’re not playing with her enough, let’s take her out for a spin. I’m available for a play date any time, chick. ❤

    • Thanks Sheila! It’s been a long haul lately. I definitely need to have a bit of a communion with her. We’ve been a little distant lately. Let’s plan on something toward the end of the month. 🙂

  • All the best and much success in 2016!!

    • Thanks Kim!

  • Now THAT is what I call a worthy New Year’s Resolution, for you and me both. The number one requirement for creativity is joy. That’s what makes kids so darn good at it!
