Fallen

When the curtain of time falls,

the past obscured by a curtain of tears

Nations crumble,

the binding ties of humanity snapped

Shards of the moon hang in the night sky,

the world broken

Leviathans of the deep beached on broken shores,

the air redolent with decay

Arid winds howl across the globe,

splinters of vegetation left in the wake

The apex predator has fallen,

their plummet ignominious and graceless

Pitiful enclaves scream an evensong,

their creator deaf to the pleas

New intelligence peers into the graves of the past,

confident in their superiority

The fields of the future fertilized by the past
