Be Kind to Yourself

A really good friend of mine reminded me to be kind to myself.  Thanks Jeanne, you truly inspire and humble me.

I have a tendency to push myself beyond my limits.  I’m stubborn, have a hard time asking for help, and have a bad tendency to try to be Super Girl.  All of this contributes to my stress level, my creativity goes on the fritz, and I have a desire put a pillow over my head to block everything out.

In a kind, direct way, Jeanne reminded me man/woman can not run faster than they have strength.  If I don’t take care of myself, I won’t be able to obtain my goals. As I show others compassion and friendship, I can’t forget to extend the same to myself.

Most importantly, look in the mirror and tell myself – I love you.

I’m grateful for my wonderful friends who support me, laugh with me, and will shed a tear with me.  I know that I am alone, I am a part of a greater plan.

  • I suffer from the same ailments – especially the ones concerning pushing beyond my limits and being stubborn. Your friend is right. We have to remember to be kind to ourselves. 🙂
