A Sudden Thought

The kernel of story ideas tend to hit me when I’m not paying attention, not near something to scribble the idea down on, or in the middle of the night.

I do my best to hang on to the ideas until I can write them down.  But the tighter I hang on to them, the fuzzier the idea becomes.  I swear I have a holey brain.

That’s why I do a lot of talking to myself in public, it helps me maintain the core of the idea.

  • Oh my, yes!

  • That’s why I always keep my phone next to me lol then I quickly note the idea down in a draft message 🙂

    • lol!

  • So relate.

And it’s always the best ideas that find the holes.

    • Absolutely! Then the hamsters that run my brain torment me by letting see bits and bytes of the idea. sigh

  • Ha! I talk to myself all the time. Especially when I’m driving. People look at me and I pretend I’m on a headset.

  • I’m quite thankful that the employees and the regulars at my local bookstore know about my habit of talking to myself. They don’t look at me like I’m nuts any more – they know I’m working out a story. 🙂

A notepad app on my phone keeps my muse happy, too!

    • I find it hard to text while walking the dog. SQUIRREL!
