Adventures in Blogging

I started this blog in May 2010.  I had just finished the 700th revision of my first draft of my manuscript.  I wanted to talk the ups and downs of my writing experience.  This entire experience has been a grand adventure.

I truly believe that blogging has made me a better writer.  I do my best to be concise and to the point I want to convey.  Sometimes I’m serious. Other times? Not so much.  This blog is a true reflection of my experiences.

Through my blogging, I have met some amazing people who have offered encouragement, wisdom, and commiseration in this journey.  I’ve found other writers who are established and who are striving.

In other words, I have built a community.

This community has made me a better blogger.  They’ve taught me tips, tricks and other wonderful things. I ran across this wonderful post from Miss Demure Restraint about blogging etiquette. It’s full of great advice.

I’m not perfect in my blogging, but I’m getting better everyday.  Thank you everyone who reads and comments.  I wouldn’t be where I am without you.

  • Having a community that helps you improve is always a wonderful experience. I feel much the same; blogging and talking with other writers is a great way to improve my writing, as well. 🙂

    • Community is truly a way to expand the horizons.

      • Very true. Being part of a community can help spur you on.

  • Lovely retrospective, Leila. I totally agree about the power of community. And speaking of which, I still owe you a pumpkin custard recipe…

    • I’ll trade the recipe for some a Viennese Pepper Chocolate Cookie recipe. 🙂

  • Keeping faith with one another…it’s a good plan. Robin

    • Keeping faith and helping where ever I can is another necessity. 🙂

  • You’re so welcome!! ^^ Wish you all the best!!

  • Community is a wonderful thing and I enjoy reading your posts… I’m still catching up on everyone’s blog. 🙂

  • It is an interesting community – always an adventure around the bend. ENjoyed touring your blog

    • Glad you stopped by. Please come again. 🙂

  • What I love about blogging is that I can connect with other writers and published authors. I think my writing has improved because of blogging, too.

Most of all, I’ve found that there are so many people willing to help me just from the goodness of their heart. I can’t believe it took me this long to start up my blog.

    • Absolutely, blogging has taught me to be a more concise writer.
